About Us

The Little Seedlings Community Garden project was started in March 2016 when  Zoe Stanmore the Community Champion at the Dobbies store in Southport realised that many of the children who attend her monthly gardening club did not have the space at home for them to use their new gardening skills.

Zoe had the idea to turn an abandoned and unloved area of the stores ground into a safe space for members of the club to use during the classes and in their own time, so that they can learn about gardening, wildlife, recycling and the environment. Zoe enlisted the help of her partner and colleagues who all agreed to volunteer in their own time to work on the garden.

A Committee was then established in April 2016, Members of the committee include Zoe Stanmore, Wayne Hannon, Tracie Sutton, John Gregson and Jake Hopkins.

The garden has no funding and relies on the use of recycled materials and donations from local businesses.
